Abstract

Crop insurance is paid by growers and supported by the federal government to protect against either the destruction of their crops as a result of natural hazards such as fire, famine and flooding or the loss of income as a result of falling prices of agriculture commodities. The human lives are mostly endangered by the attack on wild animals, and the wild animals are more likely to attack people especially who reside near the forest. The priority given to animals is widely regarded as the value provided to human life. This is due to lack of knowledge of the farmers’ risk management strategies. Farmers face a double challenge; on the one hand, being competitive on the market and on the other hand protecting crops against wildlife.
