A STUDY ON JOB SATISFACTION OF EMPLOYEES IN HP STATE ELECTRICITY BOARD LTD

The main focus of this study was to examine the level of job satisfaction of employees of the HP State Electricity Board Ltd. In their organizational context. A Convenient sample of employees at selected 2 Division along with 4 Sub Division of the HPSEB in the state of Himachal Pradesh was used. It comprised of fifty employees. A five-point Likert Scale E-questionnaire containing seventeen questions extracted from short form of Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire (MSQ) was administered for all data collection. Besides, questions on personal characteristics, the questionnaire included importation dimensions of organizational structure. For analysis of data percentage method was used. The results obtain from analysis of data revealed that factors of salary, work life balance, inter-personal relationship, job security, communication, morale, attitude of superiors, working conditions, team work and social status are more significant in determining job satisfaction of employees of the HP State Electricity Board Ltd in Himachal Pradesh. It can be pointed out that improvement in organizational variables, most particularly, in training and development, workload and working hour, autonomy, reward and recognition, promotional policies, and welfare measures etc., may enhance job satisfaction and morale of employees in the HP State Electricity Board Ltd. Some suggestions for future research and improving were also made.
