Abstract

The mismatch in the demand and supply of natural sand and the effects of its overuse on the environment has caught the attention of the construction industry to explore various other possibilities. However, prior research is required for unveiling the engineering properties of the material before its practical utilization. This paper focuses on the usage of Manufactured sand as fine aggregate in M45 grade of concrete. The natural sand replacement was done with 0%, 50% and 100% of M-Sand. The cubes were cast and tested for full strength attainment after 28 days of curing. It was found that manufactured sand in terms of its performance in compressive strength and workability provides a reasonable alternative to fine aggregate in concrete.
