USERS OPINION ABOUT INTERNET AND DATABASE USAGE IN PONDICHERRY UNIVERSITY LIBRARY

Abstract

The present study aims to examine the users opinion about internet and database usage in Pondicherry University library. The researcher selected 808 samples randomly. Well structured questionnaires are used to collect the primary data. The main objective of this study is to identify the user’s opinion about various internet and database services based on academic status. The statistical test such as for Chi-square and Two Way ANOVA are used. Result concluded that more number of PG students used internet services for checking e-mail but research scholars used internet for guide services, news service and e-mail services. Statistical result proved that there is a significant difference in respondent’s opinion on use of various databases based on academic status. Analysis shows that there is a significant difference in use of CD ROM databases based on demographic variables.
