Abstract
In current scenario due to the fast pace of change, intense pressure, changing demographics, and increased use of technology work performance became the key area of concern for employees as well as for organizations. Work performance has been identified as the significant key for organizations to gain competitive advantage and superior productivity. One of the important reasons for concern of the concept of work performance is increased number of women workforce in every sector. Women have accepted the challenges and completely disproved all the myths about their being inferior to men. Today, women enjoy privileged position and their performance is ranked as not less than that of men. But as woman grows in their career ladder, effective work performance becomes an important issue for them. The logic behind the research paper was to determine the influence of socio- demographic factors which significantly affect the work performance of women employees in banking sector. Study also highlighted theoretical aspects and important determinants of work performance and women employees. Moreover recommendations were made by the study to improve the work performance.
