EMPLOYEES’ QUALITY OF WORK LIFE – INFLUENCING FACTORS IN CERAMIC INDUSTRY

Abstract

Quality of work life (QWL) is basically a philosophy or an approach that can saturate many activities in the workplace. Previous studies show that there is an optimistic relationship between these factors and quality of work life. The present study intends to examine the quality of work life in ceramic industry. This study was conducted among the employees working in ceramic industry in Tamilnadu with a sample size of 210 using simple random sampling method. The result shows that the quality of work life has a significantly influenced by job satisfaction, safe and healthy working environment, prospects for growth and development, welfare measures and social relevance whereas it is not influenced by knowledge and perception about the job, social motivation and societal encouragement, and work itself.
