Abstract

A right is universal—meaning: it applies to all men, not just to a few. There is no such thing as a "right" for one man, or a group of men, that is not possessed by all. This means there are no special "rights" unique to women or men, blacks or white, the elderly or the young, homosexuals or heterosexuals, the rich or the poor, doctors or patients or any other group. Human rights are equal rights: one either is or is not a human being, and therefore has the same human rights as everyone else. There is lack of human rights awareness among the peoples of India. This problem is found due to various reasons. It is also found that there is lack of accurate source of information like low level knowledge of teachers about human rights awareness; mass media etc. From the above reviews we can also see that gender, area and stream have an important effect on human rights awareness. From the above study we also see that in India many people mainly children, women, and old people do not get their proper rights.
