Historically, women have been exploited, discriminated and excluded in all the arena of lives. They have been treated as a private property and compelled to confine themselves into the four walls of their houses and excluded from public places. The irony is that this exclusion or negligence is not only present socially but can be seen in academics also. The main concern of this paper is to critically examine that how in International Relations Theory, here specifically in realism, women’s perspective were excludedand has even been justified by a number of scholars of the discipline while defining women with the words like passive, emotional, irrational etc. In fact, the core concepts of the discipline of IR such as power, security, etc. are themselves gendered. The question is why? Is it really like women had nothing interesting to say or this exclusion is a result of the patriarchal nature of the discipline? This paper is an attempt to find answers to these questions.
