Abstract

The term National Security has been used widely.1 National Security is both a rhetorical phrase and a policy of objective. Traditionally, national security has been defined as protection from external attack; primarily viewed in terms of military defences against military threats. Today a broader definition of National Security is needed as security is not just the absence of war or preparedness for war. The concept of N.S. has been broad-based by the inclusion of non-military and internal threats to security.
