PERCEPTION OF SCHOOL TEACHERS ON HRD CLIMATE AND ITS IMPACT ON ORGANISATIONAL EFFECTIVENESS AND HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT EFFECTIVENESS WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO COIMBATORE CITY

Abstract

India is a developing country which focuses more on education. School education is the foundation for a stronger future. Education should equip the children to face the challenges and changing situations. Next to parents, school is the starting point for education. For imparting quality education in schools, teachers are considered as the key role players. Children should be carefully nurtured as they are the future citizens. Teachers are the valuable assets for the society as they shape the young minds and prepare for the future. Teachers bear the responsibility of nurturing a strong value system in the society. A better work climate will help the teachers transform the future generation. Studying HRD Climate of school teachers will help to understand the existing environment for school teachers. The study is aimed at measuring the perception of school teachers on HRD climate, HRM Effectiveness and Organisational Effectiveness in Coimbatore city. For the purpose of the study, primary data were collected from 76 teachers working in government and corporation schools. The findings indicate that HRD climate has to be improved in government and corporation schools. The study helps the government authorities to rethink about the revival of government schools. Any school which desires to improve its quality of education should focus on its quality of teachers in the form of teacher development programmes.
