ECONOMIC CONDITION OF KERALA UNDER CERA KINGDOM (9TH – 12TH CENTURY)

Abstract

The ages of Cera Kingdom were viewed as the key period in the evolution of Kerala. An attempt is made here, to throw light on a few aspects of society and economy during that period. The nature of administration, divisions of kingdom, social structure, land tenure system, mode of exchange, revenue, police during Cera Kingdom were discussed here. From the available records it is clear that the foundation and the growth of Aryan Brahmin settlements formed the most significant development of Kerala during this period.
