PERCEPTION OF CUSTOMER AND BANK EMPLOYEES TOWARDS INCREASING NON-PERFORMING ASSETS – AN EMPIRICAL ANALYSIS

Abstract

NPA is one of the main and concern issue which needs to be emphasized as the amount of NPAs has shown a drastic increase in recent years. It has also been analyzed that amount of NPAs of public sector banks is more than the amount of NPAs of private sector banks. In the year 2017, amount of gross non-performing assets or bad loans was 9.5 lakh crore which is not a good sign for our economy. This research is to analyze the perception of customer and bank employees regarding reasons for increasing npa. The study is based on primary data. The data has been analyzed by percentage method and descriptive studies. The data has been collected through questionnaire. The Responses are obtained from 75 customers and 125 bank employees.
