Abstract

Cross listing is the process in which a company lists its shares in a foreign stock exchange along with its domestic stock exchange. When a company decides to cross list, it has to follow regulations regarding disclosure of corporate governance practices of foreign countries in addition to listing requirements of country in which it is incorporated. The objective of the study is to measure the extent of compliance of corporate governance practices by cross listed and domestic companies. In addition, the aim is to determine whether there is a significant difference between compliance of corporate governance practices of the domestic and cross listed companies for the year 2016-17. The study takes into consideration 35 Indian domestic and cross listed companies from 9 different sectors. The study found that there is a significant difference between compliance of corporate governance practices of domestic and cross listed companies.
