COMPARISON OF SELECTED BIOMECHANICAL VARIABLES AND PERFORMANCE OF INTER COLLEGE LEVEL BASKETBALL PLAYERS IN JUMP SHOT

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to measure the relationship of selected biomechanical variables to the performance of National level Basketball players in jump shot. The subjects for this study were 48 male basketball players who had represented their respective colleges in Inter college tournaments(12 subjects from each team). Their age ranged from nineteen to twenty five years. All the subjects were right handed throwers. The data was analyzed by use of Ananlysis of Variance and LSD Test. The level of significance chosen to test the hypothesis was .05. None of the selected angular biomechanical (kinematic) variables that is Ankle Joint (Left) had significant difference also the performance of Basketball players in jump shot.
