Abstract
The woman has always borne the impact of violence in the two decades of conflict in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. She suffered in every respect, whether it may be social, political, economic, educational or any other. A silent spectator, she was raped, tortured, mutilated and killed. Several studies have shown how uncaring authorities and societal norms have multiplied her woes.
