Abstract
We have made a study of the total and partial ionization cross-sections of a Sodium atom caused by electron impact for a single ionization. Electron-impact ionization cross-sections (EIICS) have been calculated from threshold ionization energy to 2240 eV. The theoretical model, developed by Jain and Khare, has been used to calculate the EIICS for Sodium. We observed the following product ions: Na+, Na2+, Na3+, Na4+, Na5+, Na6+, Na7+ and Total. The predicted EIICS of Potassium for all seven fragment ions are compared with other theoretical and experimental data. The present model shows a good agreement with the previously reported data. * (2017) All right reserved.
