EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT AS A FUNCTION OF GENDER: A STUDY OF IT PROFESSIONALS IN NAGPUR CITY

Abstract

Abstract: Employee engagement has emerged as the main deriver for organizational success. This paper attempts to measure the level of employee engagement in Information Technology sector in Nagpur City. A total of 41 employees of a company were taken as the sample for this study (20 males, 21 females). The paper investigates the level of difference in engagement of male and female employees along the parameters of vigor, dedication and absorption with respect to their jobs. The result of the study showed that there is a significant difference along the dimensions of vigor, dedication and absorption between the male and female employees in the IT sector and the females are generally more engaged than the males.
