Abstract

A co-operative society is a form of economic organization and is functioning in the various parts of the world since a long time past. Now a days when people feel powerless to change their lives, co-operative societies represent a strong, vibrant and viable economic alternative to them. A Co-operative society is an autonomous association of persons united voluntarily to meet their common economic, social and cultural needs and aspirations through a jointly owned and democratically controlled enterprise. It is based on the values of self-help, self-responsibility, democracy, equality, equity and solidarity. Dairy Co-operatives has plays an important role for the socio economic development of the people, it can bring together the aims of increasing milk supply, enhancing incomes of poor rural households and promoting economic participation of women.
