Abstract
Universities manage their respective strategic internal and external communications. There is the necessity of strategizing the Universities image and brand by managing several image building write-ups, pictures, videos and several events, continuous interaction with industries, research institutions as well as organizations offering post education careers, and some different other events. . Therefore a focused study in the corporate communication practices in the universities in Orissa may throw light to have a consolidated corporate communication practices professionally for the universities. Thus it becomes necessary to study corporate communication practices of the universities in Orissa, intrinsically to facilitate organizational image building thus contributing to their respective growth. In this connection an attempt is being made here to study the perspectives of corporate communications in the universities in Orissa in general and KIIT in particular. The study employs questionnaire method of data collection. The study finds that e-mail communications from university management to the employees is very effective and timely as evident from the views of majority of respondents. It further reveals that majority of the faculty and executive staff opine in favor of very impressive communication from the university through face book which is too supported by General staff making it clear that KIIT University banks on social media as the fastest and effective way of communication.
