Abstract

In 1948, a movement was started in the United Nations Organisation in the form of Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This document provided certain basic principles of law which should be applied by the Municipal Courts in the process of administration of justice. These principles embodied certain remarkable concepts like equality of treatment, right to life, liberty and security of prison and freedom from torture, cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment.
