Abstract

India is a vast country interspersed with the enormous remains of our rich cultural heritage and of inestimable value. India was subjected to repeated foreign invasions and the invaders, brought ruthless destruction to the relics of the past glory, but due to a commendable zeal and respect for the cultural heritage, the people in India have been engaged in rejuvenate our past .In India while the principles of conservation are mainly being followed for preservation of monuments, that to protected by the central Government and state governments, but with the awareness and strong public opinion for the necessity to enlarge the scope for protection of historical and cultural aspects and be conversant with the principles and methods of conservation as understood and applied internationally. It can be easily attained through our school education. The significance and worth of our cultural aspects have to be emphasised clearly and inspiringly for generating scientific consciousness among our future generation.
