A STUDY OF ACHIEVEMENT MOTIVATION AND SELF – CONCEPT OF INTER-UNIVERSITY MALE SOCCER PLAYERS

Abstract

Abstract- Sports as activities involving power and skill competition, strategy and or choice and engaged is or the enjoyment, satisfaction and personal gain of the participant and others including organized and recreational sports as well as entertainment. The purpose of study was to find out achievement Motivation, Self-Concept and their relationship of Inter-University soccer players. For that 30 male inter-university soccer players were selected. The minimum level of participation was university championship for year 2012-13. The age of subject ranged between 18-25 years. The test was administered from different university, after seeking permission from the principal and the director of physical education. The collected data was analyzed by computing description statistics followed by Pearson Product moment Correlation. The results revealed that a majority with 36% are found to be in the category of Average Achievement Motivation Status, Whereas 21% are in the category of above Average Achievement Motivation Status, 12% in the below average level, 9% in the high achievement motivation status and rest 2% are in the category of Low Achievement Motivation level, whereas,
