HUMAN TRAFFICKING: SLOW POISON ENGULFING HUMAN RIGHT (IN REFERENCE TO CENTRAL HIMALAYAS)

Abstract

Trafficking in women and children has emerged as important social issue which is violating human rights .The problem gets aggravated when this slow poison has entered the safe boundaries of Central Himalayas; the situation becomes more ironical when the trafficking has changed its motive from physical to economic purpose. The paper attempts to analyze the nature, causes and volume of trafficking especially in central Himalayas of Uttarakhand. The study area is Kumaun region of Uttarakhand and the total sample size is 401 and the analytical method was descriptive analysis. The findings revealed that low economic regions are engulfed by this serious problem. The target group had been innocent youth especially young girls and children who are easily bribed for the fulfillment of their dream.
