Abstract

The concept of Social Exclusion is used to describe a group, or groups of people who are excluded from the normal activities of their Society in multiple ways. Although the concept was initially developed in Europe, it has increasingly been applied to developing countries. While the precise definition varies, there is broad agreement that Social Exclusion consists of "Exclusion from Social, Political and Economic institutions resulting from a complex and dynamic set of processes and relationships that prevent individuals or groups from accessing resources, participating in Society and asserting their rights".
