Abstract
भारत में अंग्रेजी विषय का शिक्षण लोगों की आशा एवं शिक्षा की गुणवत्ता का प्रतीक माना जाने लगा है। विश्व की 60:जनसँख्या बहुभाषीय है। भारत भी एक बहुभाषीय देश है इसमें बहुत संख्या में भाषाएँ एवं बोलियाँ हैं। भारत में करीब 1652 भाषा एवं बोलियाँ बोली जाती हैं। संविधान के 8 वें अनुच्छेद में 22 भाषाओं को दर्शाया गया है। 87 भाषाएँ प्रिंट मीडिआ में एवं 71 भाषाएँ आडिओ मीडिआ में अपनाई जा रही हैं। 47 भाषाएँ विद्यालयों में पढ़ाई में प्रयोग में लाई जा रही हैं। भारत में अंग्रेजी राजकाज की भाषा के रूप में प्रतिस्थापित है।
