Abstract

Background Neonatal Asphyxia is a disorder due to decrease oxygenation and decrease perfusion to organs. Duration of asphyxia and early management influence the severity of various organ dysfunctions including heart. Objectives To evaluate the myocardial functions in neonate suffering from birth asphyxia; to find out the correlation between severity of birth asphyxia with the degree of cardiac dysfunction and to compare these observations with full term AGA normal newborns(controls) .
