Abstract

Background Neonatal Asphyxia is a disorder in neonates due to decrease oxygenation and decrease perfusion to organs. Duration of Asphyxia and early management influence the severity of various organ dysfunctions including heart. Objectives To obtain cardiac abnormality and myocardial dysfunctions in asphyxiated babies with physical examination, chest x-ray and echocardiography and to find out the correlation between degree of cardiac dysfunction with the severity of birth asphyxia.
