Abstract

The investment market is a huge ocean of options that offer an incredibly rewarding prospect for investors to swiftly make mountains out of mole hills. The stock market is often considered the primary indicator of a country’s economic strength and development. It acts as a barometer of economy progress. It facilities and encourages the mobilization of funds, provision of equity capital to the corporate sector and provides adequate returns for the investors. Technical analysis is a price forecasting technique using past trends to project the future price movement of stocks, trading in the stock market. An investor or trader must certainly consider technical analysis as a tool whether to buy or sell the stock at a particular point of time though it is fundamentally strong. The core aim of this paper is to make a study on the technical analysis of selected stock of Banking sector and interpret whether to buy or sell them by using techniques such as Relative Strength Index, Simple moving average, mean and standard deviation etc. This study is purely based on published secondary data which are provided by National stock exchange.
