Abstract
The potential model developed by catlow and Stoneham for ionic crystals have been applied for partially covalent crystals. Here we adopt the shell model to clear the above point for the calculation of force parameters A and B which are related to the derivatives of short range potential energy ? for the crystals CuC,lCuBr,CuI,ZnS,ZnSe,ZnTe,CdTe,AlSb,GaAs,GaSb,InP,InAs and InS
