Abstract

The aim of this report is to investigate the public attitude towards the garbage problem. A public survey is conducted. The result indicated that the public is aware about their responsibility towards environment and the only thing they lack is self initiation and habit. It is recommended that the public should be provided with certain awareness programs and the efforts should be appreciated for their initiation .In this study the main objective is to find out the key factors which leads the public to behave in the particular manner and what can be the motivating factors towards environmental cleanliness. Awareness on environmental issues- Most of the respondents are aware about their responsibilities towards environment (82 percent) in comparison to (18 percent) are not aware, because these people are not open to government awareness programs. Involvement in environment sanitation programs- Only one fourth of respondents are truly involved in sanitation programmes and take actions towards self sanitation, because most of their initiatives are not properly supported by government organizations. Participation in Awareness programs- Almost half of the respondents participated in the awareness programs conducted by the government.
