Abstract

Presently in rural areas solid waste management has become a challenge. This study deals with the people awareness and attitudes on household solid waste generation and disposal. This survey focused to establish a model for community-based solid waste reduction by introducing the practice of composting for organic waste management, awareness building and environmental education for villagers at the primary level.
