Abstract

After the policy of Liberalization, Privatization and Globalization (LPG) of Govt. in 90’s, many sectors were opened for private players, and education is one of them. Public sector has reduced its role in higher education. Eventually, the burden of private finance is passed on to students and parents. Thus, it has become inaccessible to the low income group or poor people. On the other hand, full commercialization of higher education has brought many other complications in the educational system. Today, a few educational institutes irrespective of the fact whether it is managed by a single entity or by the govt. have altogether different reputation than others. Such institutions enjoy high reputation in the society and have a different value in the eyes of the public, govt. and educationistwhereasanother equally big institute in the same area does not enjoy the same reputation. Difference in the reputation and culture of an organization is not because of its building or material structure and other resources. It is rather because of the human capital and the prevailing Organization Behavior (OB).
