WORKER’S ISSUES IN THE FIELD OF AGRICULTURAL SECTOR

Abstract

Sikkim is a land based on agricultural economy and 90% of people live in rural area and farming is their basic activity which they perform as their basic key tool for their survival which also forms the basis of the socio-cultural pattern of the territory. While this is the age of modernity and the various developments is taking place throughout the world which has both positive and negative impacts and through this development many problems arising in different fields. Green Revolution which is the major form of development in the field of agricultural sector in which it introduced the methods of HYV (High Yielding Varieties) Seeds, chemical fertilizers, urea etc. to gain good production for the farmers. But here the question is not to look only benefits but also the effective factors like what cause the infertility of soil, how the land is getting barren and what are the factors and problems created by these new various forms of techniques of agriculture. The major concern of this paper is to understand the various developmental challenges and issues faced by the farmers/workers in agriculture sector.
