Abstract

Even though India ranks second in agricultural produce worldwide, we only contribute about 2.07 % in export and processed food worldwide. Food processing is a fairly new sector in India as culturally we did not process food much as we had two to three crops a year and enough to eat. With the impetus of good demand and prudent Government policies, the food processing sector is growing at the rate of about 8.4 % per Annum.
