Abstract

When a kingdom is absorbed into a Constitutional order, who defines the people it leaves behind? This article argues that the Sikkimese question — who qualifies as 'Sikkimese' for legal purposes — reveals a structural gap in Indian Constitutional doctrine that no existing framework can adequately address.
