Abstract

Present investigation focused on the evaluation of the total phenolics contents of the Amla juice and to determine their antioxidant and antimicrobial properties against selected bacterial strains. The agar well diffusion technique and disc diffusion methods were employed. Amla fruit protein extracts exhibited antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus cereus, Bacillus subtilis and Escherichia coli. Phyllanthus emblica contain very high phenolic content and has high antioxidant activity.
