Malaxis acuminata D. Don (= Microstylis wallichii Lindl.), The Crimson Shield Orchid, is a widely distributed species found in Thailand, China, Burma and Indo-China. In India, it is available in temperate and subtropical Himalaya, Western Ghats, Nilgiri Hills and Andaman Islands.
