Abstract

India initiated its biometric identification system (Aadhaar) in 2009. The biometric identification systems brought new problems, mainly surveillance and privacy to the table in a new way. Aadhaar was taken to the Supreme Court of India on the basis of violating privacy and thereby questioning the constitutionality of the project.
