Abstract

Literature data on the survival of terrestrial algae with respect to environmental stress conditions are relatively scarce. Terrestrial forms of Vaucheria (Stahl 1879), Zygnema (Fritsch 1916) and Protosiphon (Moe- wus 1935) formed cysts and/or akinetes under drought.
