Abstract

Insects and pests are the major threats to fruitful crop production. Treatment with chemicals is the main conventional method to control the infestation of pathogens, but this method is not economically feasible. Further, the development of pest and disease resistance, accumulation of residues in plant products and environmental pollution, are the main drawbacks of this method.
