Abstract

The tea Industry of India has had a long trip since the 18th century. In spite of having a strong base as manufactured product, it allows a bigger gain for the country as agricultural output. Tea in India is grown primarily in Assam, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Apart from this, it is also grown in small quantities in Karnataka, HP, Tripura, Uttaranchal, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Sikkim and Meghalaya. India has a dual tea base, unlike most other tea exporting countries. This study is on problems faced by the tea exporters and its prospects with special reference to nilgiri district. According to the study Tea Exporters are facing many problems like warehouse facility, transportation, wages, and climatic condition.
