Abstract

This study analyses women's empowerment in India and discusses issues and challenges. Empowering women is a 21st-century priority. Women's emancipation is still a mirage. We see women afflicted by social problems every day. Women Empowerment expands women's resources and life choices. Empowering women means improving their economic, social, and political standing in society. It protects them from harm. The study uses secondary sources alone. Despite government attempts, the survey shows that Indian women remain disempowered and have a lesser status than males. In society, women still accept unfair gender standards.
