Abstract

Sunshine hours is a very important parameter for heat flux estimation in solar energy applications. This paper reflects the effect of Daylight and Thermal Insulation on energy and building applications by evaluating maximum and minimum sunshine hours for different climatic zones in India and abroad. The computationally investigated maximum sunshine hours neglecting cloudiness effect for Meerut, Leh in India and Boulder in U.S.A. are 13.59 hrs, 14.26 hrs and 14.50 hrs in June respectively while the minimum sunshine hours for Meerut, Leh in India and Boulder in U.S.A. are 10.14 hrs, 9.43 hrs and 9.15 hrs in December respectively.
