Abstract

Requirement analysis and specification are considered key processes that govern the acceptance or rejection of a software project. For efficient working software projects or products, a good SRS is accountable as it provides documentation of the system that has to be developed, which should be based on some standards, protocols, and criteria. It must claim that an SRS should be correct, unambiguous, consistent, and complete, concise, high-quality description of the system. However, defects in SRS are one of the main hurdles in achieving the development goals. The assurance of SRS quality depends vigorously on the usage of suitable techniques for reducing the number of defects that may arise in the future to depict the quality and make it more reliable to customers. This paper focuses on the classification of defects and various defect detection reading techniques in requirement engineering that help in improving the quality of the SRS and make the development process more effective.
