Abstract

We have reviewed a sample of the empirical research works on predictors of Organisational Commitment to able to list the groups which have been studied and to list the antecedents which have been found to impact certain groups of employees. We found that researchers (Suman et al., 2012) have studied antecedents of commitment of employees on different ranks – executives, supervisors and blue-collar employees. Researchers (Wasti, 2003) have studied commitment of employees with individualistic and collectivist values. Antecedents of OC for different groups too have been studied, like, police officers and civilian staff (Dick et al., 2001). Research has found some distinct while other overlapping predictors.
