Abstract

The volume of health care available to the public, as well as the scope and ease of access to health care for the poor, is mainly determined by the financing pattern of a country's health care system. The paper's objectives are to examine the trend in public health expenditure; to analyse the impact of the Bhamashah Yojana on outpatient care by observing the pattern of inpatient and outpatient care. Data is obtained from secondary sources such as the Rajasthan government's budget documents and reports. The pre- and post-scheme growth rates were calculated, and the chow test has been used to examine if there were any structural changes in the number of persons seeking outpatient treatment after the Bhamashah programme was implemented. The number of patients seeking medical care from the public health system has grown since 2013, thanks to the state government's free diagnostic services. It should be strengthened and made more comprehensive.
