Abstract

Public sector in modern India; Forms of Public Sector Undertakings Problems of autonomy ,accountability and control Impact of liberalization and privatization. November 1990 - raising resources by selling shares in state-owned companies was a proposal. The proceeds were to be used to reduce the budget deficit. But the Fund was not agreeable initially because the proceeds, classified in accounting terms as capital receipts, would not then be used to retire debt, or in other economically efficient ways.
