Abstract

Maintaining quality and quantity of production cannot and should not precede maintaining the quality of the jobholders and the job system. One of the contemporary mechanisms of maintaining the quality of a job is through maintaining the job design qualities. The job characteristics model is the never-ending business of job design issues in organizational studies. However, such issues are rarely addressed in developing countries like Ethiopia. Theses study is therefore to unveil the role of critical psychological state in mediating between job characteristics and employee personal outcomes (general satisfaction and Internal work motivation). 456 employees have been selected using stratified random sampling from the population of Leather, Garment, and Steel manufacturing sectors in Ethiopia.
